SA wins $6Billion
Department of Defence contract
Adelaide based ASC has beaten out challenging competition from across Australia to secure
the contract to build the Australian Navy's new air-warfare destroyers.
With the Federal Government's decision to award the contract to ASC being hailed in the media as a 'monumental' moment for industry, business, jobs and the future of the state. Various experts have said that it signals the return of job-securing heavy industry to South Australia, some have even gone so far as to call it a 'khaki renaissance' for the state.
The ASC will base their shipbuilding yards in Port Adelaide (Below) and it is hoped that the flow on of jobs in the defence, engineering, IT, construction and other related industries will be of benefit
for generations to come, both in the Port and for South Australia as a whole.

CITC congratulates all involved in the successful tender and looks forward to continuing our professional relationship with ASC into the future.

Introducing... C.I.T.C. N.T.!!
In May, CITC Inc. launched CITC NT, our Northern Territory branch.
So far, we have run Greencard Occupational Health and Safety Induction courses that are specifically adapted for the Northern Territory's legislation and Asbestos Removal and Awareness Courses. These courses have been held in Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs and Gove.
The training has been conducted with the co-operation of both Northern Territory Worksafe and the assistance of the Northern Territory Government.

Both Charlie and Lance have been working in
the Territory
and from all reports they are doing a great job and being well received. We have absolute confidence in their abilities and we thank them for generating so much goodwill for CITC NT.
Darwin is one of the fastest growing centres in Australia and the city is experiencing a corresponding boom in construction work.
The opportunity to participate in business in this exciting and diverse region of Australia is challenging for any small business, but we are confident that this venture will be a success.
The phone number for the CITC NT if you are calling from the Northern Territory is 1800 558 158. Otherwise, you can contact the CITC's Adelaide office on (08) 8443 6633 or email info@citc.com.au.
